Celebrating the impact of learning and development

by Sep 28, 2023News, Princess Royal Training Awards, Reports

At the heart of City & Guilds is our purpose which has skills development deep rooted in it. And through the Foundation one of our jobs is to celebrate where really great skills development is happening, and an example of how we do that is our Princess Royal Training Award programme.

In 2023, applications demonstrated an even higher quality – with strong emerging themes around leadership and management, post-Pandemic recovery and diversity, equity and inclusion. To celebrate the success of these organisations and the work that they’re doing, we are delighted to share the key themes from 2023 applications which includes a spotlight on some of the best practice examples for each theme.

“We know from tangible evidence that investing in leaders is necessary for delivering meaningful change. Leaders shape organisations and are crucial to the delivery of strategic goals, but with swiftly changing economic, social and organisational environments, more than ever, leaders need to be future-ready to engage and mobilise the workforce to get behind challenging and evolving strategic priorities.”

Caroline Taylor

Executive Director for Leadership and Management, City & Guilds

We know that investing in to training and development really does increase productivity and harness and retain future talent. And we’re committed to continue recognising, through the Princess Royal Training Awards, those who prioritise delivering excellent training to support their employees, organisation and society of which we’re all part of.
