Dame Ann Limb, Chair, The City and Guilds of London Institute since 2021, will step down at the end January 2026.
In her resignation letter, Dame Ann said:
“I confirm that, as agreed at the Board meeting on 1 December 2025, and notice of this having been made public in the interim CEO’s statement of 6 January 2026, following my recent appointment as a Labour life peer, I will step down as Chair of Council and Trustee of The City & Guilds of London Institute (CGLI) on 31 January 2026 in order to take up my seat in the House of Lords.”
“I should like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and Trustees of CGLI, a charity I have been proud to serve since 2014, and to wish everyone at the City & Guilds Foundation all the very best for the future.”
The recruitment process for a new Chair is under way. In the interim, Vice-Chair of The City and Guilds of London Institute, Dick Palmer, with equal support from Treasurer Ian Ailles, will deputise to ensure continuity whilst the recruitment process for a permanent Chair is ongoing.
