With the new school year in full swing and student wellbeing a priority, the City & Guilds Foundation have teamed up with The WOW Show and partners Votes for Schools to launch an exciting new film and classroom resources to help young people build self-confidence.
The animated film – The skills you didn’t know you had! – features a cast of near-peer characters in everyday situations underlining messages about the skills that are inside us all – if only we recognise them: Resilience, Interpersonal skills, Leadership skills, Staying positive, Wellbeing and Self-belief.
The film follows the success of our previous animation highlighting employability skills which has had more than 75,000 views YouTube, reached 675,000 young people and has been actively used in schools around the country.

To accompany the film, Votes for Schools have prepared three interactive classroom-ready lessons that promote discussion and prompt students to gain further appreciation of their own skills. These lesson plans and PowerPoint lesson slides are structured to reflect the and can be used without any prior preparation.
