Hiring ex-offenders – why you’ll never look back

November 23, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Man training new worker

Deciding to hire ex-offenders might feel brave, but it opens up a vast new talent pool and can dramatically cut reoffending rates — which currently cost the UK £18bn a year.

Hiring people with convictions brings greater diversity and customer engagement – according to Ministry of Justice data, 92% of firms that employ ex-offenders report that it has enhanced their reputation, ultimately leading to more contracts.

Join us for a 90-minute webinar on Tuesday 23 November 2021 (10:00 – 11:30) for first-hand insight and practical advice on the importance of breaking down barriers, changing perceptions, and encouraging a diverse range of candidates to apply and succeed within your organisation.

Hosted by Offploy – a not-for-profit organisation which supports people with criminal convictions into meaningful, mentored, and sustainable employment – speakers include Matthias Stausberg, Group Advocacy Director for Virgin, Rebecca Morgan, head of HR for Johnsons Hotel Linen, and Sally Eley, Foundation Director at City & Guilds Group.

This straight-talking session will explore why it’s important to offer another chance to those with a criminal record and how your organisation might get started – while sharing first-hand experience of Offploy in action.

Plus, put your questions to Jacob Hill – former prisoner and founder of Offploy – as well as each one of our speakers live on the day.
